This month’s meet should be referred to as the Hall Kent
Elementary Invitational since all but one of the participant’s was a Hall Kent
student. This group of athletes showed
their talents and hearty souls while competing in all of the sprints and long
jump on this cool day. Brittany
Holloway ran an outstanding time for the 400m and matched her brother DeJuane
Holloway with a long jump of 11’3” and a 50 m time of 7.86. Fellow Hall Kent students Michael Brown,
William Sanders, and Julian Contreras turned in outstanding efforts in the 400m
and long jump. Newcomer Trent Harris of
Robinson Elementary made his debut in the 400m and long jump as well. In addition, I would like to thank Arthur
Black and Wallace McRoy for their help during the meet. As with any BTC event, the help provided by
the volunteers enables everyone, including the event director, to have a good
time. Our next meet is January 13th
at 2:30 pm at Samford University.
Please note our weather policy: if there is rain or a temperature
that is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, the meet will be postponed one week.
