On a great afternoon for running, a group of young athletes
took advantage of the nice conditions to record outstanding times. The Hall Kent Elementary contingent of
William Sanders, Michael Brown, and Megan Ross as well as Ruthie Wofford of
Shades Cahaba Elementary all ran personal best times for the 400m. Molly McFarland who competed unopposed
pushed herself to outstanding efforts in the 400m and long jump. Newcomers Meg McCalley, age 4 competing in
the 400m and long jump, and Julian Contreras, another member of the Hall Kent
contingent competing in the long jump, made outstanding debuts. In addition, I would like to thank Cara
Ross, Ed Wofford, and Carl McFarland for their help during the meet. As with any BTC event, the help provided by
the volunteers enables everyone, including the event director, to have a good
time. Our next meet is December 9th
at 2:30 pm at Samford University.
