BTC Mini-track meet

October 14, 2001

On a wonderful, fall day, a few athletes took advantage of the nice conditions to record outstanding times.  Ross Horstmann, a competitive 11-year-old swimmer, returned and improved upon all of his personal bests set the previous month.  Ross’ grandfather, Herb Johnson, age 76, ran an 8:47 mile, bettered his mark of the previous month by 35 seconds.  The Heeter family turned out for their first experience in the sport of track & field.  Elizabeth and John David turned in great performances in their first official races.  I would like to thank Wallace McRoy, Cara Ross, Gordon Seifert, and Arthur Black for their help during the meet.  As with any BTC event, the help provided by the volunteers enables everyone, including the event director, to have a good time.  Our next meet is November 11th at 2:30 pm at Samford University.  Please note the change in time due to daylight savings!
