On a hot and humid day, there were some great performances turned in by athletes of all ages. Masters level athlete Greg Marshall of the Atlanta Track Club ran outstanding efforts in the 50 & 100m dashes. Ross Horstemann, a competitive 11-year-old swimmer, showed that he could move quickly on dry land as well. Davis Kelly, age, 5 & and his sister Sarah Taite, age 2, showed signs of natural talent in their track debuts. Mary Frances Yeilding, age 6, and Megan Ross, age 6, ran personal bests in the 100m dash and just missed personal bests in the 400m run. Herb Johnson, age 76, turned in a 1:39 400 m followed by a 9:22 mile. I would like to thank Wallace McRoy, Cara Ross, Gordon Seifert, Brian King, and John Yeilding for their help during the meet. As with any BTC event, the help provided by the volunteers enables everyone, including the event director, to have a good time. Our next meet is October 14th at 4:00 pm at Samford University. Beginning November 11th the mini-track meets will start at 2:30 pm.
