BTC Mini-track meet

February 10, 2002

It was a great day for running in Birmingham. The Mercedes Marathon was in the morning followed by a mini-track meet in the afternoon. In a nutshell, it was Highland’s Day School versus Hall Kent Elementary. Representing the Highland’s Day School group were the Carrs, Owen, Mitchell, and Nicholas, and the Nelsons, Alyssa, Graham, Kirsten, and Gehrig. William Sanders, the Hills, Keonna and Kayla, and Dennis Kiarie represented Hall Kent. Other participants included John Kamau, his friend Ben, and Ben Goodman. I would like to thank Mr. And Mrs. Nelson, Mr. Carr, Mr. Sanders, Gordon Seifert, and Wallace McRoy for their help during the meet. As with any BTC event, the help provided by the volunteers enables everyone, including the event director, to have a good time. Our next meet is March 10^th at 2:30 pm at Samford University. Please note our weather policy: if there is rain or a temperature that is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit at 1:00 pm, the meet will be postponed one week.

NOTE: April 14^th begins change in starting time to 4:00 pm. All mini track meets between April and October will begin at 4:00 pm.
