BTC Mini-track meet

January 13, 2002

With the beginning of a new year, there were a number of new faces that turned out to run in great weather conditions. Among the many outstanding performances were Mitchell Carr M9, 100m 15.06 and long jump 12’1”; Connor Bedsole M10, 100m 15.07 and 1600m 7:54; Carly Bedsole F6, 400m 1:50; Owen Carr M5, 400m 1:53 and long jump 7’2”; Jennie Monosky F7, 1600m 9:44; Kayla Hill F10 long jump 8’0”; Keonna Hill F8, long jump 8’5”; and Marie DeMedicis F8, long jump 8’7”. Other newcomers recording first time personal bests included Meg McCalley, Bailey Adams, and Nicholas Carr. Other returning competitors included the Wofford sisters Ruthie and Mary Davis, William Sanders, and Victoria Reyes. In addition, there were 4 young at heart pole vaulters who showed up before the meet to test their limits. I would like to thank Marianne Wofford, Steve DeMedicis, Ed Wofford, Mrs. McCalley, Mrs. Adams, Arthur Black and Wallace McRoy for their help during the meet. As with any BTC event, the help provided by the volunteers enables everyone, including the event director, to have a good time. Our next meet is February 10^th at 2:30 pm at Samford University. Please note our weather policy: if there is rain or a temperature that is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit at 1:00 pm, the meet will be postponed one week.
