
Many of you may not be aware of this but the BTC has aMINI TRACK MEET the second Sunday of each month, weather permitting (not raining or temperature below 50 degrees at 12 noon the day of the meet). The meet starts at 2:30 PM. THIS coming Sunday will be the November BTC Mini Track Meet. ALL ages, children and adults, male and female... Awards for the children. Participants DO NOT have to be BTC members, nor do they have to be part of an organized team.

Please spread the word, especially to the younger folk. This IS a monthly Track Meet, with the next one (after Nov. 11th) happening December 9th.
Due to a scheduling conflict, BTC's "Fat Danny's Trial By Trail Run" will be postponed. Originally this popular run at Oak Mountain was scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 1st (Labor Day weekend) but a new date is now being decided on.
Please stay posted - we will announce the new date as soon as we have it confirmed.
If you had originally planned on running Fat Danny's, you may want to consider running in the BUTTERBEAN 5K and 1 Miler in Pinson, on Saturday, Sept. 1st instead.

A certification clinic has been scheduled for those wishing to become certified officials with USA Track & Field. The clinic will be held in the visitors' locker room (behind the stadium on the visitor's side) at the Mary Birdwell Track complex on the Hoover High School campus. The clinic will begin at 2:00 p.m on September 16, 2007. The cost is $35. You must be 14 years of age to be a certified official with USATF.
There will be a rules review relative to recent changes in track & field. Certified Officials or those not wanting to be certified but who want to attend the rules review need only pay an administrative fee of $5.00.

Sunday May 13 @ 4:30 Sunday afternoon (yes we know it’s Mother’s Day – eat a light lunch)
Mt. Brook High School Track (from Hwy 280 go down Overton Road to the 6th Traffic light – take a left and go to your first traffic light turn right – from 459 Liberty Park Exit – east end of the exit has a stop light – go WEST up hill and to the right to Mt. Brook High School.
Leaders will be Lars Porter and Mark Bradley. Lars is the Cross Country/Track Coach at Birmingham Southern and Mark is an assistant coach as well as 2 time former Olympian, both guys are great runners and very good coaches.
Cost is $20.00 with the money going to support inner-city running programs (a very under funded and important program).
